Two-person inflatable kayaks, compared on the numbers that differ
Tandems all claim to seat two. What separates them is capacity per pound, packed size, and whether the maker publishes either.

Every tandem inflatable claims to seat two people, so that claim carries no information. What separates these four is how much they will actually float, how much boat you carry to get it, and how much the manufacturer is prepared to tell you before you buy.
The short version
Capacity runs from 400 lb to 650 lb across four boats of similar length.
Rated capacity is a maximum, not a target. Two adults plus gear is often 400 lb, which is 100 percent of both Intex tandems' rating.
Only two of the four publish a packed size, and only two publish a working pressure. It is the same two.
A tandem is roughly 25 percent lighter than two singles for the same two paddlers, and it is one bag instead of two.

Every figure is the manufacturer's own. The two 'Not published' columns are the same brand in both rows, which is the pattern rather than a coincidence.
Length is not capacity
The Excursion Pro K2 is an inch longer than the Sea Eagle SE370 and carries 250 lb less. That is not a manufacturing failure; it is a difference in hull volume and tube diameter, and it shows how weakly length predicts what a boat will float. The SE370 uses 10-inch tubes over 12 ft 6 in of hull at very low pressure, and that combination is what produces the 650 lb figure.
It also produces a soft boat. Sea Eagle is the only brand here publishing an inflation-time claim -- eight minutes -- and the reason it can is that 1.1 psi is not much pressure to reach. The Chelan 120's 6 psi floor would take considerably longer, and the inflation-time page works through why, with the arithmetic.
The information gap is the real differentiator
Both Intex tandems publish an inflated size, a hull weight, a capacity, a material and a valve type. Neither publishes a packed size, a working pressure, a chamber count or a warranty term. Sea Eagle and Driftsun publish all of the first list and most of the second.
For a boat you keep in a cupboard and take on trips, packed size is not a nice-to-have specification. It is the one that determines whether the purchase works at all. Buying a tandem whose bag dimensions are unpublished means finding out after it arrives, and that is a genuine reason to pay more.

Twelve and a half feet of boat, 650 lb of capacity, 32 lb of hull, and it runs at 1.1 psi -- the lowest working pressure of anything here, which is why it is also one of the quickest to pump.
Six hundred and fifty pounds of capacity out of 32 lb of hull, in a 12 ft 6 in boat that packs to 58 linear inches. Sea Eagle also publishes a working pressure and an inflation-time claim, which puts it ahead of the Intex tandems on transparency alone.
The trade-off
Low pressure means a soft hull. It is forgiving and it is slow. The packed bag is 31 x 19 x 8 inches -- 58 linear inches, so it checks, but it is a bulky thing to carry through an airport.

The smallest packed box of any tandem here at 26 x 16 x 8 inches -- 50 linear inches, twelve inches of headroom under the checked-bag line, which no other two-person boat in this registry has.
Fifty linear inches packed, the smallest tandem bag here, with a published 2 psi side and 1 psi floor pressure. Ten feet of hull for two adults is tight, and the 450 lb capacity is honest about that.
The trade-off
Twenty-seven pounds and 450 lb of capacity in a 10 ft hull means two adults sit close and sit low. It is a lake and slow-river boat, not a touring one.

The cheapest way into a two-person inflatable, and the spec sheet is the shortest here: Intex publishes an inflated size, a weight and a capacity, and nothing a travel buyer can plan around.
Four hundred pounds in a 10 ft 3 in hull for the least money in the category. What you give up is information: no packed size, no working pressure, no chamber count.
The trade-off

Intex Excursion Pro K2
Three-ply PVC over a polyester core, 12 ft 7 in long, 400 lb capacity, and 48 lb of it. The most substantial boat Intex makes and by some distance the heaviest thing in this registry.
Twelve feet seven inches and three-ply PVC over a polyester core, which is the toughest skin in this set. At 48.14 lb it is also the one tandem here that is not going anywhere by air.
The trade-off
Forty-eight pounds is past the 50 lb checked-bag line once you add a bag, so this one drives rather than flies. Intex again publishes no packed size and no working pressure.

Can one person paddle a two-person inflatable kayak?+
Usually, and the Sea Eagle SE370 is explicitly sold as a one-to-three-person boat. The practical problem is trim: alone in a tandem you sit off the balance point, and the bow rides high and catches wind. Most tandems solve it by letting you move the seat toward the middle.
How much capacity do two adults actually need?+
Add both paddlers' weight, then add gear. Two 180 lb adults with 40 lb of kit is 400 lb, which is exactly the rated capacity of both Intex tandems -- meaning you would be at 100 percent of rating with nothing spare. Rated capacity is a maximum, not a target, and a boat loaded to its limit sits low and paddles badly.
Is a tandem inflatable lighter than two singles?+
Considerably. The Driftsun Voyager 2 is 27 lb for two seats, which is 13.5 lb per paddler. Two Sevylor Quikpak K1 singles would be 36 lb for the same two people, in two separate bags. If you always paddle together, the tandem wins on both weight and bulk.
